A Glass Half Full of Stuff to Read

Funny Poems, Short Stories and Animation

About Mark

In real life Mark isn't really a real bookworm but he does really like to read books. He also writes for a living about much less fun stuff than poetry. Born in 1987 he lives in Devon in the UK and a few of his favourite things include reading and orange juice, which is where the name of this site came from, as well as Strawberry Milkshakes and Studio Ghibli films like Spirited Away.

About the Site

I created this site in 2009 because I wanted to learn how to make websites but it soon turned into a place for me to post poetry that I had written in my spare time, in a notebook filled with other random ideas. It was a hobby which had started while I was bored at University and jotted down the first lines of 'Dr Garbagestein', during a lesson on the book Frankenstein.

Some of the things which inspire my work include Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass, The Adventures of Tintin, The Little Prince, The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories, Monty Python, Dr Seuss, The Simpsons and the music of The Beatles and Bob Dylan.

I've always enjoyed drawing, especially doodling, and when I got an awesome Wacom graphics tablet it seemed like the doodles I created were the perfect fit for my poems, so they went on the website too.
