A Glass Half Full of Stuff to Read

Don't Walk On The Grass

DON'T WALK ON THE GRASS

The sign said to me

In uppercase it was uppity

To make sure I would see

A field of greenness

Just waiting for shoes

But here was a sign

With opposite views

Do they make signs for the fish:

“DON'T SWIM IN THE SEA”

Or for the birds:

“DON'T FLY IN THE SKY”

Or for the squirrels:

“DON'T CLIMB ON THE TREE”

No they do not, they get to be free

I look at the sign sadly

And as I turn to the street

I hear my feet sigh

As they hit the concrete.
