A Glass Half Full of Stuff to Read

The Prisoner

I am a prisoner in my own home

I'm locked in here so tight

I can barely move or speak

Or rattle or squeak

Inside my cage

Just waiting for someone to peek

At me

Visit me

Break me

Out and set me free

Just once is all I ask

Is it such a tough task to crack

Because it's dark as well

Inside my cell

And I'm going nuts

From my head to my guts

Which is quite appropriate

As believe it or not

I'm a peanut.
