A Glass Half Full of Stuff to Read

The Gnomes Leave Home

The garden gnomes are walking

They're marching off the lawn

Quitting their miserable jobs

Of standing round all day

And never feeling warm

Neville with his wheel barrow

Trevor with his spade

They will no longer watch over

Where the children played

Derek with his fishing rod

Gordon with his sack

The gnomes they are going for good

And they're never coming back

The world can be a tough place

For a garden gnome

But they've found another place to go

By a heater on the patio

Of the neighbours' home.
